I was lucky enough to be at this premiere last Sunday. The atmosphere – with the audience scattered amongst the musicians – reminded me of a 1960’s happening. the use of the space was very clever, but the sound of the piece is something unforgettable – of course, it cannot be described in words but it was in turns (and often simultaneously) scary, overwhelming, stunningly beautiful, humane and transcendent. I hope we get a chance to hear it again – an unforgettable experience.
